Bringing Poetic Reflection to Medical Education: TGLP at NEOMED

Jenny Hegland and Yvette Perry delivered a workshop to medical school faculty at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in Rootstown, Ohio in May.

Developed as a collaboration between leaders of NEOMED's reflective practice course and TGLP, the workshop integrated TGLP’s innovative Listener Poet process and elements of its Listener Poet training program into a customized professional development experience. 

Through the workshop and participation in Listener Poet sessions, NEOMED reflective practice faculty deepened their skills in narrative and poetic reflection, compassionate communication, and creative expression – all of which are essential to their roles facilitating medical students' development as compassionate healers.
